Commonly Asked Questions

How can I schedule or cancel an appointment?
Call the main clinic at 712-580-2022 from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. , Monday through Friday.  You will receive the first available scheduling time at one of our three locations nearest your home.   If you need to reschedule, we would appreciate a 24 hour notice as a courtesy to other patients and our staff.

How do I get prescriptions and refills?
If you need a prescription refill, please call our office at 712-580-2022 two or more days before you are out of medicine and we will be happy to assist you.  If you need a new prescription, we will call it in to your pharmacy of choice at the time it is prescribed by our physician.

What should I do in the event of an emergency?
Call 911 for life threatening emergencies.  Call our office any time during clinic hours 8:30 to 5:00 Monday through Friday.  After hours, please call your local hospital emergency number.

How can I get the address and driving directions to the location of my appointment?
Please click on the “Locations” bar on our home page and you will find driving instructions to our practice location in Spencer, Emmetsburg, and Estherville.

Will an x-ray be completed at my appointment?
If an x-ray diagnostic test is ordered by our physician, all of our sites are equipped to take x-rays at the time of your evaluation.  The x-ray will be interpreted during your visit.

What is a Certified Physician Assistant?
A Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) is a medical provider who has received specialized training in diagnosing and treating medical conditions.  Physician Assistants specialize in a number of pediatric and adult medicine disciplines including orthopaedics.  Our physician assistant has received a Bachelor of Science Degree and a Bachelor of Physician Assistant Studies Degree followed by additional training in orthopaedic conditions and treatments. 

What are the payment policies for medical services?
Co-insurance and co-payments are due at registration for all scheduled services.  Payment is accepted in the form of cash, check and Visa or MasterCard.  If necessary, payment plans may be negotiated.

Do I need a referral to your practice?
No. You may call and make an appointment directly.

Do you participate in my insurance plan?
We do participate as a preferred provider in a variety of health insurance plans. Because coverage and plans change, if you are not certain about coverage, we recommend that you contact your plan to inquire before you are seen.
